With more and more people turning away from fast fashion companies such as Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo and Missguided, and beginning to become more conscious about where they shop and where their clothes come from, secondhand shopping and thrifting is becoming increasingly popular. Here’s a guide to the best Irish Depop shops if you’re looking to shop more sustainably.

If you’re looking for… 90s and 00s fashion

Try out Sugar and Spice Vintage. Sugar and Spice hand pick 90s and 00s style vintage pieces from charity shops all over Dublin. Their range includes vintage Nike, Puma, Diesel and Calvin Klein, as well as pieces customised with 90s style patches or tie dye. They have a constantly updated range of clothes, as well as bags and jewellery. They are active on Depop and on their Instagram page.

If you’re looking for… reworked sportswear

Try out Sour Power Fashion. They specialise in reworked sportswear, turning things like joggers and t-shirts into bralettes and two-piece co-ords. Some of the brands they’ve reworked include Fila, Nike and Adidas. Their reworked pieces are available to see on their Instagram; however on Depop they now have committed to hand making face masks and matching scrunchies in a variety of different fabrics.

If you’re looking for… handmade earrings

Try out Peach and Punch. This shop sells only funky handmade earrings in a huge variety of different styles. On their Depop shop there’s watermelons, loveheart sweets, cherries, and oranges, as well as some more unusual styles such as eggs, teeth and frogs. They deliver internationally and also take commissions for personalised earrings.

If you’re looking for… one of a kind

Try out Missmatch. All of their items are personal and handmade, creating things like tops, scarves, headbands and even bags out of a huge range of different fabrics. All of the items are made to order so your piece will always be unique! You can order via Depop or Instagram.

If you’re looking for… affordable

Try out Luda Vintage. Vintage and secondhand shopping can be more expensive as it gains popularity, but almost everything on Luda Vintage is under €20. There’s a huge range of items in a huge variety of styles, such as t-shirts, skirts, jackets, sunglasses and bags. There’s something on this shop for everyone; it doesn’t stick to just one style or fashion genre.

If you’re looking for… unique

Try out Vintage Van Goths. Despite its name, this isn’t a goth themed Depop shop, it’s just full of some serious unique vintage pieces. You can find all sorts of patterns and fabrics here, all sorts of styles and cuts and a few vintage branded pieces, like Dolce and Gabbana and Nike. If you like standing out, this is the shop for you.

If you’re looking for… grunge

Try out Sour Milk Market. This shop stocks very 90s grunge items, perfect for channelling your inner Courtney Love! They also do a lot of custom made pieces, where they cut up t shirts or shirts to make them a one of a kind piece. All of the pieces on Depop are also shown styled so you can get some fashion inspo too!
